The TSH test is used to evaluate the thyroid gland\u2019s function.<\/p>\n<p>TSH stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroxin and triiodothyronine which, in turn, stimulates metabolism of all body tissues.<\/p>\n<p>TSH values are often evaluated along with \u03a44 values for the differential diagnosis of primary and secondary hypothyroidism.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sample<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Venous blood<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No specific preparation is required.
